Children on Paddleboards on the River Lt Ouse. Three lying on boards while their friend tows them along

We’ve been spoilt with the weather, plan a memorable trip for the School Holidays!

For paddlesport activities, the wind is key to a session.  The sun is nice, but it’s much less impactive than windy conditions, this is especially true for Paddleboarding.  It becomes an issue as the human on the board tends to act like a sail, (even when sitting or kneeing). The width of the board also has a significant impact on how much the wind can affect it, so having some nice wind free days has been fantastic for the taster sessions I’ve been running this month.  I’ve had the pleasure of taking customers out from as far afield as Australia and as comparatively “local” as Leeds and Kent.

I’ve run Paddleboard, Canoe and Kayak taster sessions, several group sessions and a few birthday present trips down the river.   I’ve taken out a couple wanting to paddle in a coastal environment for the first time, and helped an experienced paddler get to grips with the complex movements of the tide around the Salt Marsh of Wells-next-the-Sea.  I ran my first Coastal Paddling Introduction this year.

I a

now have a Hire Boat Operators Licence with The Broads Authority.  This means I can offer paired Paddleboard taster sessions without you needing a licence.  This will mean paddlers can come out with worrying about getting a short stay paddle licence.

I have one for the Environment Agency, so I’ve got the rest of East Anglia covered.

If you would like a paddle, want some coaching, want to paddle somewhere different, want to improve your confidence, or just don’t want to paddle alone, drop me a message, or give me a call and we can see what’s possible.

Happy Paddling!

Darren
